Espectrógrafo CanHiS

CanHiS is a f/13.5 "R3.2" high-resolution (max R~160000) and high efficiency (36%) echelle spectrograph in quasi-Littrow configuration, using intermediate-band interference filters for isolating individual dispersion orders.

 

Mechanical layout of CanHiS

 

CanHiS, the former LPL-Echelle Spectrograph, was donated to INAOE by the University of Arizona. It was built and operated by the research group led by Professor Donald Hunten, from the Lunar and Planetary Laboratory at the University of Arizona. The instrument was used for solar system studies, when in use at the 61-inch Catalina Telescope.
