The Schmidt Camera’s Dome and Curtain
The dome protects the Telescope from the weather and also has a curtain, which opens and as a result opens the view towards the sky.
The dome can rotate 360 degrees, it is placed on ten wheels, it has a railway that enables the wheels to turn freely, the wheels also have spring suspension. Three of them have a strong power motor, a speed reducer, chains and transmission bands that are simultaneously activated through a couple buttons from within the operations’ center.
